Freya’s projects are underpinned by research that is heavily focused on the use and manipulation of physical materials. Someone who is often driven by process, she finds that experimentation with different making methods and media is a big part of her developmental work, and often the part she enjoys the most when working through a project. For this reason, much of her research revolves around developing drawings, pushing sketches into other works as well as layering and collaging different works together to create new outcomes. Processes such as mono printing and textile illustration have become some of her preferred ways of researching and recreating her work in different formats.
